Akshaya Tritiya

According to Hindu scriptures and almanac, the holy festival of Akshaya Tritiya is celebrated with great pomp on the Shukla Paksha of Vaishakh month. In the lingua franca it is also called Akhatij or Vaishakh Teej. It is said that Treta and Satyuga also started on this day. Therefore, it is also known as Krityugadi Tritiya. This year, Akshaya Tritiya will be celebrated on 26 April. Worshiping on this day eliminates sins and increases happiness and prosperity in the home.

It is said about the date of Akshaya Tritiya that this day is known as Siddha Muhurta. On this date, any auspicious work like marriage, house entrance, purchase of a house, plot or vehicle, etc. can be done without even seeing any almanac. Mata Parvati, while explaining the importance of this date to Dharmaraja, says that any woman, who wants any kind of happiness, should give up salt completely while doing this fast. By doing the same fast in myself, I am happy with Lord Shiva.

Along with this, marriageable girls should also keep this fast to get the best groom. Women who are not having children can also get child happiness by doing this fast. Goddess Indrani, the wife of Indra, the king of heaven, became the mother of a son named Jayant by virtue of this fast. Devi Arundhati got the highest position in the sky with her husband Maharishi Vasistha by doing this fast. Rohini, the daughter of Prajapati Daksha, was the most beloved queen of her husband Chandra due to this fast.
